This site is owned and operated by the Black Filmmaker Foundation, a non-profit
organization. At dvRepublic.com, the privacy and security of your
personal information is of the utmost importance to us. We want to make
your experience online satisfying and safe.
Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. What information does this site collect about you and how is it used? dvRepublic.com collects only the IP address, cookie ID and information that you provide through optional, voluntary submissions. These are voluntary submissions to receive our electronic newsletters and email updates, to participate in our discussion forums, to order merchandise, to make donations and to participate in polls and surveys. When you register to join dvRepublic.com we will ask you for information such as your name, email address, user id, password, gender, age, and zip code. When ordering products on the site, you may be asked to provide a mailing address, credit card number and other billing information. As with any other service on our site, you may choose to opt-out of this service at any time. dvRepublic.com conducts research on our users' demographics, interests, and behavior based on the information you provide us when you register, participate in a poll or survey, or from our server log files. We compile and analyze this research to better understand our users, improve your overall experience when using our service and to provide our sponsors and advertisers with relevant aggregate data. Because we derive our revenue mainly from sponsorships and advertising, providing such aggregated demographic data is essential to keeping our service free to users. From time to time, we may also collect information via surveys. Survey information will also be used on an aggregated basis. We keep all of your personal information private and will not share it with any third party. Who do we share this information with? dvRepublic.com uses the above-described information to tailor our content to suit your needs and help our advertisers better understand our audience's demographics. Use of your IP address The site does not currently collect IP addresses but we may collect IP addresses in the future for the purposes of system administration and for studying how people use our site and how we can improve it.
